The annual McAdam Pumpkin Party is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26th at the McAdam Nursery & Garden Center, 2001 Des Plaines Ave. in Forest Park.

A variety of fun activities are available for the entire family: free snacks, face painting, pumpkin painting, music and story-telling. While the kids are being entertained, McAdam professionals will provide tips on how to winterize your garden and find out what you can still plant.

“Let our experienced horticulturists give you some ideas on how to properly winterize your gardens,” said Scott McAdam, the company president. “As the recent cold snap has demonstrated, winter is closing in faster than many of us would like to admit.”

In addition, on that day only, there will be a 50 percent discount off all regularly priced items, including trees, shrubs, evergreens and perennials.

The center offers bulk sales of soil and mulch, has a collection of unique garden containers and garden art, plant products and gardening tools.

Garden Center staff members will also be on hand to help answer questions and provide direction on basic garden designs as well as the selection, planting and maintenance of plants. Standard delivery and installation rates apply.
