The students in Mrs. Boucek’s 3rd grade class worked on a data investigation of pumpkins. Each team of students was given a pumpkin to name. Pumpkins: Big P, Jack-O, Sloppy Joe and Pumpkin Pete were ready to be evaluated. Students teams took the circumference, height & weight and also counted the number of lines on their pumpkin. Using the data collected, students predicted the number of seeds that would be inside their pumpkin. Roque Hernandez, a 3rd grade student teacher, read “How many Seeds in a Pumpkin” to the students. Afterwards, students put the seeds in arrays as they counted the total to see if their prediction was correct. Pumpkin Pete had the most seeds!
