Marie L. Tierney, nee La Rosa, age 84, a lifelong resident of Forest Park, died December 20, in her home. Marie is survived by her significant other, Ron Majcher, as well as children Retired Chief of the Broadview Fire Dept. John H. (Teressa) Tierney, Jr., Maureen (George) Kletecka and Forest Park Police Officer Patrick (Christina) Tierney, and her grandchildren; Karrie (Damon) McDaniel, Christopher Tierney, Phillip (Krissy) Tierney, Matthew (Alissa) Tierney, Jennifer Kletecka, Kevin Kletecka, Jennifer Smith, Shane Tierney and Susan Tierney, and her great-grandchildren Ava, Aiden, Ryker, and Nathan. She is also survived by her sister LaVerne (the late Frank) Cali, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tierney was preceded in death by her husband John H. Tierney, Sr., a son Peter Tierney and her siblings Peter (the late Sarah) La Rosa, Ann (the late Andrew) Pawlowski, Jean (the late George) Ahrendt and John (the late Betty) La Rosa.
Marie was a longtime member and Collegent of the River Park Women of the Moose #780, a longtime volunteer for Cub Scouts of America, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a parishioner of St. Bernardine Catholic Church. She retired from Loyola Hospital, where she worked as a billing clerk in the Patient Financial Department. Funeral Mass was held at St. Bernardine Church, Monday, Dec. 23, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hillside. Arrangements by Woodlawn Funeral Home.
