School will be in session Monday, Jan. 6 at District 91 Schools in Forest Park, said Superintendent Louis Cavallo. However, any parent who wishes to keep their children home may do so and the absence will not be counted as unexcused, he said. there will be no preschool at the Park District.
“It’s always a no-win situation to keep everybody happy,” Cavallo said. “We don’t close school for temperature.”
“We have many parents who have to go to work and we will open our doors so the children have a warm place to be,” he added.
Buses will be running and the snow is stopped, Cavallo said. No child has to walk more than a few blocks, he added.
“We expect everyone to be able to get to school safely, and any parent who wishes to keep their child at home can,” he said.
