Kathleen “Kathy” M. Huebner (nee Czyzewicz), 54, of Forest Park, died Jan. 28. 2014. She was born Jul. 27, 1959. Kathy was a fixture at St. Bernardine School, where she was employed. As a parish volunteer, she decorated for every special event and celebration (fashion shows, dinners, receptions), and prepared the food for weekly Bingo. She also organized and directed the annual school play. She participated in the parish choir, bells choir, women’s club, and the PADS program. After the unfortunate closing of St. Bernardine’s School, Kathy worked at Our Lady of the Snows in Chicago. Kathy opened her home and offered daycare to many children in the area. A lifetime member of the Polish Falcons Nest #907, Kathy served in past years as district instructress, taught and participated in Polish dancing, gymnastics, track and field and drills.
She was known for her infectious happy smile and a firm handshake or a hug. Nothing trumped her faith or her family, and she lived that every day of her life.
Kathy was mother of Clayton (Denisse) and Christine Huebner. She was the sister of Joseph (Lisa), Dan (Donna), Dave (Heather), Jim (Carla) and the late Mark Czyzewicz. Cherished aunt and friend to many. A funeral Mass took place Feb. 1 at St. Bernardine Church with arrangements by Zimmerman Harnett Funeral Home. Memorials to St. Bernardine Church are appreciated.
