Each February, the American Dental Association (ADA) sponsors National Children’s Dental Health Month to raise awareness about proper dental care for youngsters. Dr. Jerry Udelson, a long-time pediatric dentist in Forest Park, supports this every year by presenting to area schools, libraries, and play groups. “By educating children early on about good brushing habits and healthy food choices, we are helping them get a good start towards a healthy smile and positive attitude toward dental care,” says Udelson, a father of four young children.
This year Dr. Jerry’s fairies were thrilled to visit 15 different groups, totaling almost 1000 children. Each of these presentations featured hands-on activities discussing primary teeth, tooth function, and why health habits are important. Every child received a fun goody bag to take home with a coloring sheet, toothbrush, and toothpaste.
Founded in 2004, Children’s Dentistry has grown to become one of the most recognized and respected pediatric dentistry practices in the area. As a two-time Red Tricycle “Most Awesome” Award winner as Happiest Dentist Office, fun and love for working with children is evident every day from the kid-friendly waiting room filled with a bedazzled funny mirror, video-games, and a full-size boggle sitting area to the brightly colored exam rooms with video screens. A pediatric dentist since 1989, Udelson has a welcoming staff with expertise in pediatric dental care, who truly enjoy working with children each and every day.
