Commissioner Chris Harris is trying again to gather citizen input on that portion – public property – of the coming village budget over which he has some possible influence.
Maybe he gets credit for posting the budget on his Facebook page. Perhaps there will be some worthy comments about dog park upkeep. But to us this exercise again points to the absurdity of the commissioner form of government, the silliness of the notion that Chris Harris has a particular insight into budgeting for roof replacements, wood chips in dog parks.
The underlying system is broken. This is a reflection of that.
