A Forest Park man was shot and killed in the Austin neighborhood on Chicago’s West Side around 3:18 p.m. May 26.
Monte Tillman, age 33, of the 1100 block of Thomas Avenue, was walking on the sidewalk near the 5200 block of West Lake Street, said a spokesman for the Chicago Dept. of Public Affairs. An unknown offender approached and fired several shots at Tillman, hitting him in the chest. Tillman was taken to John H. Stroger Hospital and pronounced dead at 4:26 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
