The members at Mount Mariah Baptist Church summer session were having a fine time even though last Monday was gray and gloomy. Some of the kids quieted down for a few minutes to have their pictures taken. Shown in this photo are Kendria Simpson, Aniyam Bilam, Lorris Hudson, Ezikiel Hughes, Darlene Martin, Ershela Simpson, Iyana Ash, Gregory Stapleton and Kaylah Stapleton. The fellow on the top row who is unnamed will have his proper name in here next week.

Forest Park’s own international Bluesman Sugar Blue has been performing around the world and in Chicago. But Sunday he played close to home – a special intimate show at Berwyn’s Friendly Tap.

Also shown is Solomon’s Seal, a plant rarely found in yards but a few can be found on Hannah Avenue amidst some lovely lilies of the valley. There are two kinds of Solomon’s Seal, false and true. The seeds on these are hanging down from the leaves. You could look it up, is this one a false or a true Solomon’s Seal. Bob Uphues looked it up, it’s a True Solomon’s Seal. False Solomon’s Seal gets bushy white flowers on it.

Correct me if I’m wrong.

Reminds me of Ogden Nash’s poem “The Camel”

The camel has a single hump,

 The dromedary two

Or else the other way around

I’m never sure, are you?
