Traffic was slowed down during the Friday morning rush hour after the village of Forest Park discovered a water main break of a four-foot pipe beneath the sidewalk in the 1400 block of Harlem Avenue.
Water was turned off for residents in the area as public works employees tried to repair the pipes, said Director John Doss. Public works had the main repaired by 11 a.m. and water turned back on for residents shortly thereafter, Doss said.
