Village officials said a third and unnamed company had made inquiries about applying with the state of Illinois to open a medical cannabis dispensary at a second site on Roosevelt Road.
Village planning consultant JoEllen Charleton said a company was interested in the property at 7701-7711 Roosevelt Rd. The property was formerly a Washington Mutual bank branch. The former bank part of the building has been vacant for years. Smokin’ M’s barbeque is located in the building to the west of the proposed site.
No further information was known about the company, she said.
Other known sites and companies are St. Fiacre’s at 7228 Cirlce Avenue in the site presently occupied by Kevil’s Restaurant, and the former Deal$ Dollar Store site at 7709 Roosevelt Rd.
