Elmer “Smitty” Smith Jr., a 50-year-plus resident of Madison Street in Forest Park, passed away peacefully on Nov. 20, three days shy of his 81st birthday. Many will remember him as the ‘lock and key guy.’ His passion for many, many years was opening locks that were locked with no key, and creating keys to open them. He is survived by a sister Catherine Notto, also from Forest Park, and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all. Graveside Service was held Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014 at Forest Home Cemetery with arrangements by Zimmerman Harnett Funeral Home.
