Russell Fischer, age 65 of Forest Park passed away suddenly November 26, 2014. US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He resided in Westchester for the last 23 years. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Eugene and Lucille Fischer. Russ is survived by his brothers, Gene and Jim (Judy) Fischer, and his nephews Alex, Eric and Anthony Fischer and his friend and companion Kate Terrazino. He grew up in Forest Park and attended Proviso East High School. After returning from service, he studied at Triton College. Russ retired after more than 30 years of service with the Village of Oak Park. He started as an auto mechanic and worked his way up to Fleet Manager. He was an Auxiliary Police Officer for the Village of Forest Park for many years. Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home. Interment took place at Oak Ridge/Glen Oak Cemetery.
