It’s here already! So Merry Christmas (or Bah Humbug or whatever your mood). Here is Santa on the 600 block of Marengo waving and inviting requests any time of day or night. He left his penguins down in the South Pole, but they send their greetings to Forest Park and hope to be back again sometime. I guess the weather hasn’t been cold enough for them this year.

Sympathy to the family and many friends of Donna Erwin of State Farm Insurance at Desplaines and Madison. Donna became ill a few weeks ago, it was serious but no one thought it was that serious. Her co-worker and friend, Sandy Muellner along with Lenore Koca and many clients will miss Donna very much. She left two grown children, Rose and Jonathan.

Two Forest Parkers, “The History Singers” have recorded lovely favorite Pre-Victorian Christmas Carols. Kathryn and John Atwood’s album is available at –where else? — Centuries & Sleuths. Such traditional favorites as God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Holly and the Ivy, While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks, I Saw Three Ships, Here We Come a Caroling and many more. For the season, you can listen to them as you browse around the store.

Congratulations to Robert Hoskins, son of Commissioner Rory and Monique. Robert has been nominated to the US. Air Force Academy. Robert will graduate from St. Ignatius this year. Here is a photo of proud dad and son, with Congressman Danny Davis. Also nominated to the Naval Academy was Patricia Vazquez of Proviso East High School.
