MaryLou Lindmeier

MaryLou (Goodson) Lindmeier, 91, of Sterling, formerly of Broadview died Jan. 2. She was born Feb. 17, 1923. She was the wife of the late John C. Lindmeier and mother of John (Carol) Lindmeier, Mary Ann (Robert) Hardt, Richard Lindmeier and the late Bonnie Lindmeier. She graduated from Proviso East High School in 1941. 

Mary Lou was a person with many interests and talents.  Her number one passion was music.  She learned to play the accordion at the age of six and continued on her musical journey by becoming a well-known organist along with learning how to play a number of other musical instruments.  She shared her passion for music by teaching many students and grandchildren over the years how to play the organ.  

Other interests included jewelry, painting, and politics. Mary Lou was appointed the GOP Committeewoman for Cook County in the early 1960s and her passion for politics continued throughout her entire life. 

Mary Lou married John Lindmeier from Oak Park in 1941. She was a grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 18.  Mary Lou & John built a family cottage in NW Wisconsin and spent most of their summers surrounded by family and friends on the lake.  A service was held Jan. 8 at Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home 7319 W.
