Verner Gene White

Verner Gene White, 73, of Chicago died Dec. 22, 2014. He was born Sept. 5, 1940 in Cinetopia, Mississippi. 

He was a longtime auto mechanic in Chicago.  He was the husband of Rosetta Flowers and father of daughters Angela Flowers (Richard) of Forest Park, Kennyta Flowers, Lakisha Flowers (Kenny), Kizzy Flowers (Loar), Vanessa Johnson, Elizabeth Tate and son Kristoffer Flowers.  He was grandfather of 16 and great-grandfather of one great-grandchild, all of Chicago.

“This is by far the hardest thing we have had to do once again in our lives,” his children wrote in a eulogy. “Now we are saying ‘good-bye’ to you. Even though God has called you home, you will still live on in our hearts. We love and will miss you dearly.” 

Services were held at Christ Awakening Missionary Baptist Church, 3409 W. Madison, Chicago with Pastor Michael D. Sharkey, Jr. officiating.
