Forest Park Commissioner Chris Harris is gathering candidates seeking key offices on the April ballot on Thursday, March 5 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Shanahan’s Restaurant, 7353 Madison St., Forest Park, for a meet-and-greet event.
“I think it’s a great way to get to know these candidates a little better or even meet them for the first time and ask a question in an informal setting,” said Harris, who is running for mayor of Forest Park.
Light appetizers will be served, and there will be a cash bar for beverages. Confirmed attendees include Harris, Proviso High School District 209 board candidates Nathan “Ned” Wagner, Claudia Medina and Theresa Kelly as well as Forest Park village commissioner candidate Daniel Novak.
Invitations have also been extended to all of the Forest Park School District 91 candidates, who are running uncontested.
“We wanted to be inclusive in our invitations, and [Forest Park village commissioner candidates] Rachell Entler and Joe Byrnes are welcome to stop by,” said Harris. “As new candidates I think it’s important for people to hear from them and even in uncontested races like D91, people want to know who will be making those decisions.”
