On Wednesday, April 22nd, Field-Stevenson National Elementary Honor Society members traveled to Aurora to volunteer at Feed My Starving Children (www.fmsc.org ) The students packed rice, vegetable and vitamin meals that will be donated to help starving children in countries around the world. The FMSC website states that in 2014 more than 229,000,000 Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) meals were produced and nearly 900,000 volunteers packed FMSC meals which cost 22 cents each. FMSC hopes to reduce the number of children who die from starvation each day by providing e nutritionally complete meals to children in over 70 countries.
Afterwards, the students got to taste the mixture they had packed. Thanks Mr. Cushing, Mrs. Binder and Mr. Dudlo for organizing this event!
