This past week, in the sixth grade, we wrapped up their unit on Greek mythology by choosing their favorite myth, and turning it into a play. Students worked in groups to write scripts, create props and costumes, and set up blocking. The students showed a lot of enthusiasm and courage, as this was the first time they had to memorize lines!
It was exciting to watch as students collaborated, researched, and constructed their versions of these famous myths. From Zeus and Hades, Narcissus and Echo, to Icarus and his wings, all aspects of Greek mythology was covered by these talented students. We are looking forward to starting our next unit on science-fiction!
