For many students, intramurals serve as the first experience with an athletic type of program. Field-Stevenson intramural volleyball coaches Kate Gresock and Nikki Petrey emphasize sportsmanship, learning, and enjoyment of the game – not on competition and winning. The culminating event is a game to try out what they have learned. Kate Gresock explains the commitment of her team, “Our team performed very well with excellent volleys, players diving for the ball, outstanding serves and an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm from participants.” Participation in intramural sports allows all students the opportunity to build teamwork, sportsmanship, integrity, and exercise skills and have fun!
