Congratulations to Grandma May Bill and the entire Bill-Fink family on the achievement of daughter-in-law Angie Fink who received her PhD from Concordia University last weekend. Angie, wife of Corey Fink, is principal of Marengo High School in Marengo, Illinois.

Good news! Wayne and Marie Beckmann are staying in Forest Park. It’s Indiana’s loss, but too bad; we’re keeping them here.
Speedy get-well wishes to Sandy Byrnes who underwent some hip surgery last week. Augie Aleksy had the same procedure a few weeks ago and is now able to do the Highland Fling (well, almost). In a few weeks he and Sandy can perform for us.
You are invited to attend the 4th annual spring concert given by the Senior Suburban Orchestra at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 16 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 5211 Carpenter St., at the corner of Grove in Downers Grove. Light refreshments will be served; no admission but donations are cheerfully accepted. There will be a guest appearance by the “élan” dance company of the Naperville Park District.

As Officer Morrissette kept law and order, the Soap Box Derby began right on time last Saturday down the north side of the Circle Avenue Bridge. Among the participants were Storey Novak and Peyton Brown. No word yet on the winner.
