Christopher Reetz, 74, of Terre Du Lac, Missouri, died on May 10, 2015 at his home. Born on July 17, 1940 in St. Louis to the late Rev. Paul Rudolph and Ricka (Klein) Reetz, he had a passion for photography and a passion for helping others in his community. He attended the famous Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California and opened Christopher Reetz Photography in Bonne Terre, Missouri. After 25 years, he retired, then obtained a bachelor’s degree from Southeast Missouri State University and a master’s from St. Louis University graduating from both schools with high honors. His degrees led him to social work, mainly in the health care industry. 

He will be remembered as the photographer who photographed countless special memories for area families, and he will also be remembered as a pioneer in social work. 

Christopher Reetz is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ruth (Helmke) Reetz; his son, Paul Raymond (Lesley Ann Ford) Reetz; his grandson, Hilton Christopher Reetz; and his brother-in-law, John Helmke who is pastor emeritus of Forest Park’s St. John Lutheran Church and his wife, Nancy. 

A memorial visitation will be held on May 24 from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Park Hills.
