This week brought happy news from former Forest Parkers Ken and Beth Lanious and Joe Breseman. Beth and Ken celebrated wedding anniversary #45 on June 27! They were married at Saint Peter’s Church, officiated by Rev. Franz Lindahl, Ken’s grandfather. The Laniouses are now living in Gilbert, Arizona, missing Forest Park friends but not the weather. Everyone here in Forest Park sends love and congratulations, Ken and Beth!
Remember Jim and Joe Breseman? It was a sad day many years ago when the Bresemans left us. But time has gone by and Joe is now living in Thousand Oaks, California. He is very happy and doing well. Started his own business in 2001 and moved to California in 2014. He ships to customers all over the world so he can live anywhere. Joe and his wife, Michele, were married in October 2010 on Santa Monica Beach! (How California, eh?) His work and social activities bring him in contact with several names you’ll recognize. He’s shown with Robin (Burt Ward) and Batman (Adam West), Julie Newmar (Cat Woman), and there’s one with Jay Leno, too, but I don’t think it made the cut. Joe’s brother, Jim, is living in Florida.
Now for some sad items: Sue Paschke, a familiar face at Schayer Hallmark, died a few weeks ago after a year of recovering from brain surgery. Getting a photo of Sue seems impossible. We thought we had one, but it never appeared. Sue was well liked by customers, friends and family and we will miss her very much.
Speedy get-well wishes to Marilyn McKenzie who is enduring physical therapy now after her recent knee replacement.
Saddest of all is the death of Pat Cosgrove Cassiani. Pat has not been well for many years. She worked for many years at the village, but sickness caused her to leave. She was loved by her family and friends. A special sympathy to her sister, Celeste Cosgrove Arnold. The sisters were very close. Pat had four daughters, Colleen, Tara, Tricia and Tiffany. Grandchildren are Christine, Richie, Frankie, Alexis and Gianna.
Happy birthday to Marge Griffin, Eric Bradley, Sue Giblin, Dave Smentek, Bernice Matthews, Paul McKune, Mary Moravec, David Jargstorf, Cecilia Webster, Gerry Schermerkorn, Karen Dylewski, Clayton Huebner, Lucy Liu, Tim Grams, and Louie Politis. Happy anniversary to Mel and Mary Block, Kathy and Jerry Walton, Payton and Maddux Callis, Nick and Sue Mangiaracina, Kelly and Tim Woods.
Remember, June 16 is Bloomsday.
