Mary Ann Gartner, 90, a 17-year resident of Forest Park and a former 41-year resident of Oak Park, died on Aug. 18, 2015 at Oak Park’s Berkley Nursing Home. Born at home in Racine, Wisconsin on April 2, 1925 to George and Anna Jung Mohr, she attended Horlick High School, then worked for the Oster Manufacturing Co. in Racine before marrying Joseph Gartner in 1957 and moving to Oak Park. She was a devoted member of United Lutheran Church in Oak Park.
Mary Ann Gartner is survived by her daughters, Joan and Susie Gartner; her grandson, Casey; and her sister, Betty (the late Milo) Christensen. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her son, John.
A memorial service will be held at United Lutheran Church, 409 Greenfield St. in Oak Park, on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at noon. She will be buried privately with her husband, Joe, in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
