Linda D. Taylor-Myrtle, 70, died on Oct. 2, 2015, at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. Born Dec. 14, 1944, in Forest Park to Fred and Arvilla (Knop) Taylor, she was a 1963 graduate of Proviso East High School. She married James E. Myrtle Sr. on Jan. 2, 1964 in Forest Park and worked as secretary/treasurer with her husband at the family business, Myrtle Printing House Inc., displaying a wonderful knack for solving problems. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: chatting with friends and family, snacking, and spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.
Linda Taylor-Myrtle is survived by her husband, James Sr.; her son, James Jr.; her daughter, Cathie (Allen); her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brothers, Ronald (Patricia), Jimmy (Cindy), the late Donald (Cathy) and Fred (Maryann); her sister, Deborah; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Linda touched are invited for visitation to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat on Friday, Oct. 9 from 3-9 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 W. Cermak Rd., Forest Park. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment at Concordia Cemetery of Forest Park.
