Ms. Volpe’s first graders are working on many skills as they study spiders- just in time for Halloween! The children are working with partners to research a certain type of spider. They are using Chromebooks to access Pebble Go, which is a research website designed for children. It includes articles, which the children can read and listen to, as well as videos. The children record information in their spider book as they research, and, once their project is complete, they will present it to their classmates. Through this project, the students have worked on science, reading, writing, and oral language, as well as beginning research and computer skills. They students are enjoying the process and loving all of the new information they have to share about spiders!
