Three weeks ago the Forest Park Middle SChool 8th grade classes began collecting money for Nothing But Nets. Nothing But Nets is a charity organization that donates mosquito nets to families in developing countries where the threat of malaria is ever present.
The 8th grade’s goal was to raise $500. Five hundred dollars would have been enough to send fifty nets overseas. The 8th grade didn’t raise $500, they raised $812.00. The students blew away their target raising enough money to send eighty nets to families.
In a time when too often we think of only ourselves, it is wonderful to see the students banding together for such a worthy cause. We congratulate them for their generosity.
