Quarter 3 – Emily Bruzzini
Position: Garfield/Grant-White Art Teacher
Years of Service: Emily has worked in FPSD91 for 5 years (4 as a sub and 1 as an art teacher). She has also taught art classes at the Elmhurst Art Museum and subbed for one year in Mannheim school district 83.
Education: Emily has her bachelor’s degree in Art Education with a focus in printmaking from Elmhurst College.
Special interests: Emily loves to sew, mainly quilts but also children’s clothing and bags. She also enjoys baking and cooking when she can find the time. Spending time with her family is very important. She loves playing with her cousin’s kids and taking them to the library. One of her favorite things to do is go to the Art Institute where she is a member.
Reason for being spotlighted: Among the many great things Emily has done since becoming the art teacher this year, she has done a wonderful job of integrating literacy into her art projects. She has worked with the school librarian to incorporate a few of the Monarch Nominee books into her lessons and most recently, she did a project with one of our PBIS books of the month.
