Friday night, the South Forest Park PTO hosted their annual indoor family carnival to conclude Spirit Week. This year’s theme was Comic Con and we had five themed classrooms, including a Super Cookie Walk, Harry Potter Craft, Star Wars Games, Super Photo Booth, and the Forest Park Library sponsored an Anime Room. In the Field Stevenson Gym, families gathered to dance with Super DJ Ryan Russ, eat pizza and snacks and try their luck on the raffle prizes.

Thank you to all the local businesses who contributed to our raffles. It is your generosity that fueled a major portion of our event — we are so grateful to you and your support of our schools. These “super” local businesses included: Geo’s Automotive, Mohr Oil, Barclay’s American Grille, Brown Cow Ice Cream Parlor, Caffe De Luca, Camille Et Famille, Defiant Comics, Forest Park Review, Golden Steer Steakhouse, Illinois Railway Museum, Junction Diner, Kagan & Gaines, Kay’s Bakery, MacDaddy Salon, Madison St. Shoes, Old School Tavern, Park District of Forest Park, Paulson’s Paints, Smokin’ M’s, Starship Subs, Gasse School of Music, Todd and Holland Tea Merchants, Re/Max Realtors Dorothy Gillian and April Baker and Tri-Star Gymnastics.

In addition we would like to give special thanks McGaffer’s for supplying pizza and to Defiant Comics for donating comic books for every child in attendance.

Thank you, principals Brunson and Milnamow, Betsy and Field teachers, and the school support staff who sponsored teacher raffles at school and promoted Spirit Week to the students. Thank you to the Middle School National Junior Honor Society students and Boy Scouts who volunteered on Friday night, too.

Finally, thank you to all the parent volunteers. Your commitment to our schools makes our school community awesome.
