Signs of spring are popping up everywhere at Betsy Ross. There are diagrams of plants in the halls, rainy day art projects, and children running around on the playgrounds! Nature walks, writing about spring, and sharing books and stories about spring themes make this a fun time to be here for both students and teachers.
Mrs. Seery’s 2nd graders and Ms. Benacka’s kindergarten students are watching the magic of nature at work in their classrooms. Ms. Benacka’s class has a windowsill full of plants for each child. The students planted seeds and have been observing them daily, noting growth and changes to their plants. Mrs. Seery’s students planted “magic” beans, to go along with the second grade’s unit on fairy tales, and are watching as their beanstalks slowly climb up to the clouds.
Happy Earth Day from Betsy Ross School!
