Forest Park resident a victim of gun violence

A Forest Park resident, shot on a Chicago street on July 27, died the following day, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner.

Demetrius Paskel, 19, of the 7400 block of Washington Street in Forest Park, died at 4:43 p.m. on July 28 at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of complications from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the medical examiner.

Paskel was shot in the 4000 block of West Van Buren Street in the West Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, police reported that Paskel was standing on a sidewalk when a subject walked up to him, pulled out a handgun and started firing before fleeing the scene eastbound on Van Buren Street.

The Sun-Times reported that Paskel produced rap videos under the name “Money Makin Meech.”
