Do as much or as little as you like. The park district will have a chuck wagon set-up, with hot dogs and beans, and a campfire for roasting marshmallows and making s’mores. There will also be a late-night movie and time to tell some ghost stories. The campout concludes the next morning with breakfast. Families only. Parents must accompany children. There is no rain date. Come any time after 2 p.m. on Saturday to set up your tent. Activities begin at 5 p.m. Fees: $35 per family/tent (limit 6), $7 for each additional participant.

The Szurko Trio is a local favorite who pride themselves on playing a great variety of music from many different eras. Their tag line, in fact, is “Playing Classics and Oldies You Love and Miss … and More!” which suggests their ability to switch hats and play song sets for a variety of audiences. Szurko began over four years ago playing various venues on Madison Street in Forest Park so they welcome the opportunity to play “where it all started.” Hot dogs, chips and lemonade for the first 125 people.
