Third graders at Field-Stevenson are about to reveal the meaning of multiplication. Rather than just memorize facts, these students dig deeper into the multiple meanings in order to solve real-world problems. In teams, students were challenged to create a board that would “teach” multiplication. Teams created presentation videos that covered various methods of representing multiplication including: groups, repeated addition, arrays, number line, and bar diagram.
