On October 13, Grant-White students held a Walk A Thon to raise money for school activities. Students in grades 3-5 collected pledges to benefit their school, and geared up for the three mile walk to the Trailside Museum of Natural History in River Forest.

Students left Grant-White at 9:30 A.M. donned in their colorful t-shirts promoting the experience. Once students arrived at Trailside, they walked the paths and viewed some of the nature exhibits. After returning to school, each student received a water bottle and a snack to energize them for the rest of the day.

Overall, the Walk A Thon raised $1,575. Mrs. Malarski’s class fetched the honor of raising the most money, which earned them a trip to the movies! Mrs. Rush’s class was neck and neck with them, and also earned an ice cream social. Congratulations to fifth grader, Lily Kryger, who was the highest individual fundraiser! A special thank you also goes out to Mrs. Giblin for organizing the event.
