Steve Thomas, assistant director of the Park District of Forest Park, announced that the Riley family home at 929 Elgin Ave. is the winner of the 2016 Halloween Home Makeover Contest.

Thomas said the park district’s recreation staff served as judges for the contest. They drove around Forest Park and looked at roughly 20 houses. The winner was chosen by standards of creativity, entire use of space available, and curb appeal. The prize for winning is a free 2017 Family Park District of Forest Park Aquatic Center pass.

“The creativity, fun and willingness to participate in this event,” said Thomas, “fits in line with the park district mission to enhance the quality of life for the residents of the village.”
