Each year West 40, the educational service center for the western suburbs, sponsors a ceremony to honor outstanding students in each school district. Individual districts can choose the criteria that they use to select the award winner. The SCOTY Award, an acronym for School Citizen of the Year, is given to the student that  demonstrates characteristics that include leadership, dedication, respect and integrity.

Field-Stevenson is proud to recognize Karen-Luna Pina as our latest inductee for the “School Citizen of the Year” award.

Karen’s leadership abilities are evident through her clear character values, work ethic, and her willingness to help others.  With her optimism, effort and positive outlook on life, Karen is a gracious and lovely example for her peers.
