Build a Stuffed Animal Storytime

Library officials teach your kid how to build an Arctic stuffed animal and read aloud such Jan Brett classics as, “The Three Snow Bears,” at 3 p.m. Dec. 16 in the Austin Room of the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. Available for Kids 8-years-old and under. Relieve Stress with your breath

Spend an evening learning simple breathing techniques that will help you relieve stress and anxiety. Library officials will also lead you through a simple guided visualization meditation to help you feel more calm. Author Discussion

Attend a meet and greet with author Robert Goldsborough, who will be signing and discussing passages from his latest book, “Stairway to Nowhere: A Snap Malek Reader.” Goldsborough’s latest novel is about a Chicago Tribune columnist who gets caught in the real-life implications of one of his feature stories. Discussion occurs at 2 p.m. Dec. 17 at Centuries & Sleuths Bookstore, 7419 W. Madison St.

Toy Drive

Mystery Discussion Group

Join fellow book lovers in discussing “The Mistletoe Murder: And Other Stories” by bestselling author P.D. James. The book tells a story of a newly-appointed sergeant who is coerced into not serving as a murder witness, and the adventures that unfold from there. Discussion occurs at 2 p.m. Dec. 16 at Centuries & Sleuths Bookstore, 7419 W. Madison St.

Fun-drive

Attend the Best of Proviso annual “Fun-Drive” at 10a.m. Dec. 16 at 11031 Roosevelt Rd., and help community members raise money and gift items for needy residents. Grown-Up Game Night

Spend an evening playing board and card games with community members at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Austin Room of the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. Games include Scrabble, Exploding Kittens and Flashpoint.
