Explore Forest Park
Join the Forest Park Public Library for their second event in their “Explore Forest Park” series. Each month, the library visits a different business or organization around the village. On Jan. 10 at 6:30 p.m., they will explore Suite Spotte, 7339 Madison St., a new co-working space in Forest Park. Register online at fppl.org.
Kiwanis Dinner
Kiwanis will sponsor its Community Service Award Dinner at 7 p.m. Jan. 9 at Francesca Fiore’s restaurant, 7407 Madison St.
Friday Night Movie Night
The Forest Park Park District will play host another Friday Night Movie Night for children grades kindergarten through fifth at 6:15 p.m. on Jan. 5 at 7501 W. Harrison St. The Park District did not mention which movie will be screened, although it promises that any movie will be G or PG rated. Either a hot dog or pizza dinner will be provided, along with popcorn of course! Register online at pdofp.org or show up at the door. Tickets for residents are $5, nonresidents $7.
Town Hall with Daniel Biss
He started as a mathematics professor at the University of Chicago. Then served as a representative in the Illinois House, later as an Illinois State Senator. Now Daniel Biss wants to be your progressive Illinois governor. Come meet Biss Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. at the Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake St. in Oak Park.
Work off that holiday gut
The Forest Park Park District will play host to another Fitness Demo Day for Pilates at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 8 at 7501 W. Harrison St. First-timers are free. Register online at pdofp.org or show up at the door.
Voices
As part of its monthly “Voices” series, the artistic director of Echo Theater Collective will talk about its upcoming season of programs at 2 p.m. Jan. 7 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7339 Madison St.
School is in session
Forest Park District 91 schools will return from winter break on Jan. 8.
