Violet Tellalian (nee Hagopian), 89, of Lombard, a former resident of Forest Park, died on April 26, 2018. Born on June 20, 1928 and raised in Pawtucket, Rhode Island by her late parents, Deroohe (nee Ohanian) and George Hagopian Sr., with her brothers, Hagop, Avedis and George and her sister, Mary. She met her future husband, Edward Tellalian, while visiting an aunt in Pittsburgh when she was 19 and they married a year later on July 11, 1948. The couple moved to Oak Park for six months and then to Forest Park for nine years. In 1964, they moved to Lombard and Violet spent the rest of her life in that home. She enjoyed playing bridge and pinochle with her friends and working in the garden, especially with her roses. She was known for her friendly and gregarious personality and when she walked into a room full of people or into a store, everyone she engaged became her friend.
Violet Tellalian was the wife of the late Edward; the mother of Dorothy (James) Lang, Martin (Lezlie Mackowiak) and Nancy Tellalian (Robert) Schroder; the grandmother of Jennifer (Brent), Jeffrey (Kate), Amanda (Stewart), Dan, Allison, Amy and Eric; the great-grandmother of Madison, Dylan, Hailey, Parker, Ellie, Brooks and Caroline; the sister of George Hagopian; and the aunt and great-aunt of many.
Visitation was held at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St. in Lombard on April 30 with funeral services on May 1 at the Armenian All Saints Apostolic Church. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery. The family appreciates memorials to the Armenian All Saints Apostolic Church, 1701 N. Greenwood Road in Glenview, 60026.
