Summer of Adventure Launch Party

Teens can enjoy live music, arts and crafts, and salsa and merengue dance instruction from Latin Street. Registration will also open for all summer reading programs for pre-readers through teens. Fun starts at 6:30 p.m. on June 2 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. 

Rise N’ Learn

Terese Castellanos, a licensed clinical social worker, will share the presentation, “Left Behind, Helping Families Pick Up the Pieces After the Death of a Loved One.” The talk is sponsored by Riveredge Hospital and the Community Mental Health Board of Oak Park Township. Talk starts at 9 a.m. on June 1 at Riveredge Hospital, 8311 W. Roosevelt Rd.

4th Annual Germanfest 

Forest Park’s fourth annual Germanfest will be held the weekend of June 8 outside the Altenheim Picnic Grove, 7824 Madison St. Enjoy live music and entertainment, authentic German food and beer, games for kids, and booths featuring items by local vendors. Twisted Cookie Storytime

Families with children 5 and under can enjoy stories, songs and a small craft at 10:30 a.m. on June 4 at Twisted Cookie, 7401 Madison St. Register online at fppl.org.  

New Kitchen Fundraiser

Have fun and help raise funds so the Howard Mohr Community Center can upgrade its old kitchen. Enjoy music by the Redmonds, a silent auction and raffles, food, drink and more.
