Seven dumpsters, a semi-trailer filled with electronics, plus too many tires, batteries and light bulbs to count: That’s how much the village of Forest Park collected during its “Clean Up, Fix Up, Paint Up” event, which ran May 21-26 and allowed residents to dispose of unwanted household goods by either dropping them off at the Department of Streets and Public Improvements or leaving larger items curbside.

“A large amount of the big items were picked up by our public works crew during this week,” Village Administrator Tim Gillian wrote in an email. “This was a very successful event.”
