House and Garden Walk
The Historical Society of Forest Park will host its inaugural House and Garden Walk at 10 a.m. on July 14 at Centuries & Sleuths Bookstore, 7419 Madison St. Attendees will receive a guidebook, tour seven homes and gardens. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $15 at forestparkhistory.org or at Centuries & Sleuths. Buy tickets the day of for $20. All proceeds will benefit the historical society.
Author Discussion and Signing with Jack Fredrickson
Attend a discussion and book signing of local mystery writer Jack Fredrickson’s latest work, “Tagged for Murder,” which is about a private investigator’s surprising search for a murder. Talk starts at 2 p.m. on July 15 at Centuries and Sleuths Bookstore, 7419 W. Madison St.

Attend a discussion and book signing of local historian, novelist and teacher David Krugler’s latest work, “RIP the Angels from Heaven,” which is about naval officers struggle to stop the Soviets from getting the atomic bomb—but also trying to save himself. Talk starts at 7 p.m. on July 18 at Centuries and Sleuths Bookstore, 7419 W. Madison St.
St. John Choristers Children’s Choir Day Camp
St. John’s will hold its annual, 10-day choir camp from July 30 to August 10. Attendees will receive training in vocal technique, stage craft, improvisation and much more. The camp is open to all children older than second grade, regardless of school or religious affiliation. The camp culminates in an informal concert to be held on August 10. Camp costs $200 and runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Groov’n in the Grove
Grab a blanket, pack a picnic and head over to the Grove for a summer concert under the stars. Concerts are free; food and drink will be sold. “Out of Control” band will perform from 7 to 10 p.m. on July 17 at the Grove, 7824 Madison St.
West Suburban Jazz Bus Tour
Healy’s Westside and Kagan & Gaines in Forest Park will join area venues in hosting jazz shows at 6 p.m. on July 25. Buy your tickets at jazzdesires.org. Produced by Jazz Desires, a nonprofit that brings music to youth.

Cash Mob Forest Park
Join the Forest Park Chamber of Commerce for the first-ever Cash Mob at 5 p.m. on July 12 at Team Blonde, 7442 Madison St. Cash Mobs are like flash mobs, but instead of singing and dancing, participants spend money as a group. The group aims to target small, local businesses and spend $20 in cash. The cash mob will start at Team Blonde, head to Girlicious and then get drinks at Scratch Kitchen.
