Brandon Arnold-Wallace was crowned king of Forest Park District 91 schools’ annual spelling bee on Jan. 16, the second year in a row he’s taken the district’s top title.
Arnold-Wallace, a sixth-grader at Forest Park Middle School, will now compete at McClure Junior High School in Western Springs on Feb. 4 for a chance to advance and out-spell the nation’s best at the Scripps National Spelling Bee — an event Arnold-Wallace has said he’s dreamed of attending for at least two years. Before that, however, he’ll have to win at McClure and the Regional Championship spelling bee on Feb. 20.
“It was wonderful to see you all,” said a post on the middle school Facebook account.
Go Brandon!
