Don’t miss your chance to see candidates debating the issues that matter to you in the coming election.
This election season, Forest Park Review is pleased to partner with several community organizations to host candidate forums for the mayor and village council races, as well as the District 91 and District 209 board of education spots.
Two challengers have emerged for the mayor’s space, where a single vacancy will open come April; nine will compete for the village council, where four spots will open; and seven have emerged for both the District 91 and 209 races. The election is April 2.
The Review will partner with the Forest Park Chamber of Commerce and Development to host a forum for D91 and D209 candidates at 6:30 p.m. on March 6 at Forest Park Middle School (FPMS), 925 Beloit Ave. There will be a “Kid Zone” where children can engaged in supervised play.
We will hold a separate forum — in partnership with the Forest Park Public Library — from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on March 10 in the Austin Room of the library, 7555 Jackson Blvd, for just the mayoral candidates.
Finally, we will also partner with the chamber to hold a forum for mayor and commissioner candidates at 6:30 p.m. on March 21 at FPMS, 925 Beloit Ave.
All candidates have been invited to attend these community events.
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come to these free forums. The Review and our partners also invite residents to submit questions to candidates before the debate. If you have a burning question or topic you would like candidates to answer, please send it to Staff Reporter Nona Tepper at ntepper@wjinc.com before the event. You can also call her at 708-613-3325. We will do our best to make sure everyone’s voice is heard.
This is your chance to engage in the democratic process and influence Forest Park. We look forward to spirited forums and hope to see you there.
