This is my first run for political office and I am continually amazed and energized. The many opportunities to gather with my fellow Forest Parkers through meet and greets, candidate forums, knocking doors, and the Review interview have allowed me to absorb the different issues and ideas our community holds. Being able to engage in meaningful discussions with our neighbors and other candidates have highlighted what folks care about most; our love for Forest Park and our desire to see it be successful while maintaining our wonderful charm.
I am humbled and honored to have the Forest Park Review’s endorsement along side my slate mate, Mark Boroughf. Reading their assessments of the endorsed candidates, I feel they were fair and well considered. I appreciate the Review acknowledging my desire to bring a respectful responsiveness to our village council. They wrote, “We trust her to bring this professional perspective to village operations.” The word ‘trust’ resonates with me. April 2nd, we are trusting 5 people to do their best to deliver on the promises they have made. I do not take that lightly. I want the opportunity to work with our community to make great things happen for Forest Park. I know and trust my fellow Forest Park Forward slate members will follow through. Mark Boroughf, Jon Kubricht, Julianne Bonwit and I have been working together, openly and transparently, for over 6 months. We have different ideas, but shared goals. We trust each other and we will work together to support each other. While capable of working with whoever is elected, I know that Forest Park Forward is ready to take action. We have heard lots of ideas and suggestions for Forest Park over the years, now it is time to decide who we trust to truly move Forest Park Forward.
