Easter Bazaar 

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through April 17 to 20, Always in Style will have its annual Easter Bazaar at 7516 ½ Madison St., where it will sell soap, candies, cookies and more from nuns at the famous St. John Chrysostomos Greek Orthodox Monastery in Wisconsin. 

“It’s really noteworthy, it’s really great and people come from all over to shop,” said local patron and fan Jean Leinweiber.  

Stand Up for Autism Sidewalk Art Event

Help officials decorate the Forest Park Public Library’s front walk in support of Autism Acceptance Month, from 4 to 5 p.m. on April 18 at 7555 Jackson Blvd. Appropriate for children ages 5 and up.

Family Make-And-Take Botanical Art 

Explore the science and sustainability of seeds, and create a botanical art piece, from 1 to 2 p.m. on April 20 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. Children of all ages are welcome with an adult. 

Reading Awake Book Group 

Join fellow book lovers for a discussion of local author Angalia Bianca’s “In Deep” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on April 24 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. 

WE Day Charity Kickball Game 

Forest Park District 91 students will hold a charity volleyball game from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m. on April 17 at the Park District of Forest Park, 7501 Harrison St. 

Legislative Training

Join the Forest Park Public Library in learning the history of this Forest Park staple, and take a tour, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on April 18 at Starship Restaurant & Catering, 7618 Madison St. 

Spring Open House 

Empowering Gardens will hold their spring open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 20 at its outdoor garden center, 7730 W. Madison St. The nonprofit will offer a free vegetable gardening class from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. 

Personal Assistant Recruitment and Training 

The Progress Center for Independent Living is recruiting personal assistants and certified nursing assistants to assist people with disabilities in their homes. The job offers flexible hours and full- and part-time work. No previous experience is necessary. Personal assistants are currently offered $13.48 per hour. People with all abilities are encouraged to apply.
