Terrific piece on Bob Sullivan! [Opinion, Aug. 21] You really captured him. I was on the newspaper wagon with my young son, Mark, when we ran over Bob [in the Forest Park St. Patrick’s Day Parade years ago]. Just before it happened, I glanced at Bob and thought he looked vulnerable for some reason. After the accident, fearing the worst, I shepherded Mark away. Bob was thrilled when I told him his column [“From These Pages,” Forest Park Review] was my 15-year-old daughter’s favorite. It was also a thrill for me when he’d call in response to my column.
