Park District of Forest Park commissioners voted on Sept. 19 to accept the bid of Schroeder & Schroeder from Skokie, the lowest responsible bidder out of four bids received, to redo the park district’s paths at The Park, 7501 Harrison St.
The project, which will begin within the next few weeks, is expected to be finished by Thanksgiving. The total cost is $249,829.50 and involves all pathways throughout The Park, including everything along Harrison Avenue from Circle Avenue to Desplaines Avenue and all internal paths.
The park district received a $100,000 grant from Cook County and will be paying the remaining balance.
Park district commissioners are considering putting out a separate bid for path lighting in the next fiscal year.
