Eighth annual Casket Races
For a frightfully good time, get in the spirit and join the Forest Park Chamber of Commerce for the 8th annual Casket Races. Watch teams compete for the coveted trophies for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place and ‘dead last’ – or the most frighteningly funny and creepiest casket. Food available from Brown Cow and Twisted Cookie, coffee from Counter Coffee and adult beverages from Scratch. Races start at 11 a.m. and will be held on Beloit Avenue between Madison and Adams. Come early to join in the fun – the DJ will start playing music at 9 a.m.
Trick-or-treat on Madison Street
Kids of all ages can visit participating shops along Madison Street for treats. 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Madison Street between Harlem and Desplaines. Around thirty businesses will be participating and handing out treats to kids.

6th Annual Jack-o-Lantern Halloween Carnival and Food Drive
Presented by Jacknow Realty and The Lantern Haus at 7414 Madison St. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Calling all little monsters and munchkins (0-12)! Stop by The Lantern Haus + The Lantern Loft dressed for some trick or treating fun and trick or treat your way around our booths and Madison Street! Admission is free, but please bring one item per person to donate to Sarah’s Inn or a cash donation. Items Sarah’s Inn needs are listed here: sarahsinn.org/donate. Trunk or Treat at the park district
Come on out to the Park District of Forest Park from 2 to 4 p.m. at 7501 W. Harrison St. for the annual Trunk or Treat event. Participants park their cars together and open their trunks to reveal themed decorations. Two ways to participate: Decorate your car and come dressed in costume as you pass out treats and/or children are invited to trick or treat from trunk to trunk to look at decorations and receive candy and treats in a family environment.
Zombie Pub Crawl
Grab your friends, get decked out in your favorite Zombie garb and join the creepiest pub crawl this side of the grave, sponsored by the Forest Park Chamber of Commerce. Enjoy blood-curdling drink specials and more zombie fun at your favorite Madison Street haunt. Check-in at two locations: Duffys, 7513 Madison St. or Healy’s, 7321 Madison St. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at bit.ly/2VQtumG. 8 p.m. to midnight.

Oct. 25 & 26 at 9 p.m. at Blueberry Hill, 427 Desplaines Ave. in Forest Park. Show off your costume while you sing spooky songs and sip on Halloween themed cocktails. Karaoke on Friday with Joy and on Saturday with Ford. No cover charge, and karaoke is free for paying customers.

Thursday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. at Twisted Cookie, 7401 Madison St. Families will enjoy an evening of stories and songs at Twisted Cookie. Come in pajamas or not, as you wish! Milk and cookies will not be provided by the library, but attendees can purchase treats before or after storytime, and gluten-free and vegan options are available.
