Three blocks of Elgin Avenue – 1300, 1400, 1500 – will be resurfaced beginning next spring or summer under terms of an agreement ratified last week by the Forest Park Village Council.
The pact authorizes an agreement between the Village of Forest Park and Cook County for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) of $120,000. The village government will invest $333,000 in funding as well as spending $90,000 for engineering services. The project will include installation of ADA curb cuts and spot curb repairs.
Mayor Rory Hoskins and commissioners Joe Byrnes, Dan Novak and Jessica Voogd voted on Oct. 15 to approve the project.
According to Village Administrator Tim Gillian, bidding will open soon, and an engineering and construction firm bid will be awarded over the winter. Construction is expected to begin in spring or summer of 2020.
